Millions of senior citizens in Nigeria face harsh realities of poverty, neglect, and isolation. Although many are entitled to pensions, countless elders struggle to access these benefits due to systemic delays and logistical barriers. Sadly, some frail and sickly seniors even collapse while waiting in long queues for their payments.
Their struggles are deepened by weakened family support systems, financial insecurity, limited mobility, and inadequate access to quality healthcare. For many, daily life is marked by poor living conditions, unsafe neighborhoods, and little to no access to essential services like clean water, electricity, and emergency care.
In addition, a large number of older persons remain unaware of their rights and lack the resources, information, or support to seek help when needed.
The Foundation runs a dedicated program for the elderly in local communities, providing them with modest yet consistent monthly stipends. This support helps sustain their basic needs from month to month, with the goal of ensuring they live out their later years with dignity and respect.
